Sharjah, 10 February 2020: United Arab Bank (UAB) has announced it will be taking part in the 22nd National Career Exhibition, due to be held at Expo Centre Sharjah from 9 to 11 February.
The move aims to attract qualified national cadres, talents to fill administrative, and leadership positions in various departments and to foster leadership skills of Emirati employees working in the bank.
UAB said its participation in the exhibition comes in line with its relentless efforts to support the Emiratisation strategy, develop national cadres and sharpen their capabilities through specialised training programmes.
Emiratization Strategy
Commenting on the occasion, Ahmad Abu Eideh, CEO of UAB, said: “United Arab Bank has a proven track record of achievements in building and developing Emirati cadres in the banking sector and since Emiratization is an essential part of our strategy, we are focusing on hiring national talents and promoting their capabilities through specialized training programs and practical training courses”.
Abu Eideh affirmed that the National Career Exhibition is indeed an ideal opportunity to meet talented Emiratis and discuss with them potential opportunities at the bank. We want to engage them in forging a promising future for UAB, which has been able to score 101 points in the Emiratization of jobs as assigned to by the UAE Central Bank, he added.
Constructive initiative
For her part, Rehab Khalaf, Chief Human Capital Officer, said that the bank has launched several constructive initiative to build capable Emirati cadres including the Reyadah program for fresh graduate staff with bachelor degrees, which was designed to train them to be future leaders at UAB. Additionally, the bank is taking many practical and regular measures to raise the efficiency of its (Emirati) cadres through quarterly focus groups, which also aim to get insights on what they (Emirati employees) want to develop and grow.
“UAB is fully committed to supporting its Emirati employees with conducive business environment that nurtures their expertise and refines their talents. We have recently conducted a successful restructuring process in the bank where we appointed a skilled team composed of Emiratis and other different nationalities. They have an extensive experience locally and regionally in a number of leadership positions. We expect they will provide UAB’s employees with great skills and knowledge in the banking sector,” Khalaf added.
